One amongst them has to be Sonam Kapoor. A style diva and a fashionista, the stunning actress, who turned 35 recently has an amazing weight loss journey which will motivate you to work on yourself and get in shape.

At the age of 19 or 20, when she was studying in Singapore, Sonam weighed around 86 kilos, led a very contrasting lifestyle and was borderline diabetic. However, she managed to work on herself and get better for good. Like many of the stars, it was her debut film which made Sonam make the cut.

Although Sonam had zero plans of entering the film industry, the actress knew that she had to get in shape before making her big Bollywood debut and that's how it all started. Sonam is extremely close to her mother and in fact, credits her as the biggest motivator behind her losing weight.

In an old interview, the diva, who admitted to having a very big "sweet indulgence" said:. The first thing she did was to keep me off the stuff I was so fond of as a teenager- chocolates, ice creams, fried foods and sweets. Even though Sonam comes from a hardcore non-vegetarian Punjabi family, she gave up meat some years back and is now a strict vegan and one of the first things she did was to cut out junk food.

Sonam is also not someone who believes in fad diets. She eats every two hours and does not skip out on certain foods. She also gets curated dark chocolates for her, which are her favourite.

Sonam has also been experimenting with a lot of cooking during the quarantine which goes on to show how she likes to stick to healthy cravings now. One of her personal favourites has to be brown rice and tofu, which has a lot of health benefits too. She also likes to drink a lot of water and hydrating drinks like coconut water throughout the day, which is a super healthy habit to follow. What is more inspiring is that she never goes overboard. Even though the 'Aisha' actress lets loose when she has her cheat meal, she remains disciplined about what she gets to have.

Every year, Sonam sets the bar high with her red carpet looks and there's no denying that a lot goes behind getting the perfect look. In fact, you will be surprised to learn that Sonam has a set routine and religiously alters her diet a month before the film festival begins and literally, bring out the best foot forward.

Her nutritionist and trainer spilled out the beans last year,. There is as much emphasis on upper body workout because one needs to have a toned back to flaunt those dresses.

I train with her and we workout on a combo trailer, which is a pilates machine and some traditional mat pilates routines in the mornings. Her evenings are dedicated to weight training and cardio. It involves interval training where she walks for a minute and then jogs.

She picked up spinning when she was in Los Angeles recently and continues to do that as well We don't want to take any chances with her stomach as the red carpet will soon roll out. She also prefers to eat simple home-cooked food like roti, daal, sabzi. Sonam's fitness secrets are one to keep handy. Once she set out to get in shape, Sonam trained under popular fitness trainers, including Yasmin Karachiwala to burn off excess calories.

She followed an intensive regime, which included workout styles like power yoga, cardio, swimming, sports. She is also trained in Kathak, which again, proved to be really helpful in keeping excess weight away. Even now, Sonam keeps experimenting with her workouts and never misses a session, no matter where she is. However, the one regime she really likes is Pilates, which she has been regularly doing for more than a couple of years, which again, her mother introduced her to.

Social media is flooded with pictures of celebrities doing Pilates and Sonam is one of them. It has been a gamechanger for the 'Neerja' actress, who credits the workout form for helping her post a back injury as well. She has been training under Pilates instructor Radhika Karle.
